Historic Port Deposit's
Bed and Breakfast's
Located along the lower Susquehanna River Historic Port
Deposit's heritage and location offer a relaxing step back in time.
Being the northern most deep water port at the head of the Chesapeake Bay, Port
Deposit was an important part of early American history. You will see
architecture from the 1700's through the early 1900's when the town was in it's golden
period.
Most homes in our village are fashioned with locally cut blue-hued
granite and wood turned in mills that were at the waters edge. Wrought Iron
fences gates and rails, cast in local forges grace many homes along the main
streets.
Surrounded on three side by granite cliffs and state parks, Port
Deposit is nestled in front the Susquehanna river. Directly across the river and
for miles each way is the Susquehanna State Park which is linked by 35 miles of
Heritage Greenway between Cecil and Harford counties. It is not uncommon to see
bald eagles overhead or see the river boiling with migratory fish teaming
upriver.
Restaurants
You will find a diverse selection of food to satisfy most tastes in our many
local Restaurants and eateries.
