Dogwood

When the Dogwood blooms the "Shad" will boom. old Port Deposit telltale for fisherman that the Shad spawning season has arrived. This photo taken April 19, 2004 as the fish were jumping in the Susquehanna river.

Richards Oak

This tree is the one that Marquis de Lafayette and his men rested on their way to final battle at Yorktown. The tree then was several hundred years old. This photo taken circa 1915 was part of an ad by the Port Deposit Hytheham Club to save the tree from decay. The oak finally succumbed around 1980 and historically marked along US Route 1.
